Voter Registration
To register at Village Hall, please bring two forms of identification, and one must contain your current address. Applicants need to know their Social Security number, and naturalized citizens need to know their date and place of naturalization. Residents must register at least 28 days before an election to be able to vote in it.
Identification Examples:
– Valid Driver’s License
– Current Utility Bill, Bank Statement, or Paycheck
– Other Government Document
Registrants must be a United States citizen, must be 18 years old on or before the next election, must live in Thomasboro at least 30 days prior to the next election, must not be convicted and in jail, and cannot claim the right to vote anywhere else.
Note, if you are presently registered, you only need to register if you move or change your name.

Running for Office
Voters will elect a Mayor/Village President, along with three Village Trustees, each with a 4-Year term during the Consolidated General Election being held on April 1, 2025. For more information, or to pick up election documents, please contact Village Clerk Tana Ward at clerk@thomasboro.us.
Residents who are interested in serving as a member of the Village Board are encouraged to view the Village of Thomasboro Election Packet for more details regarding this process. Petitions can be filed with the Village Clerk from November 12, 2024 to November 18, 2024.

Political Sign Information
Political signs announcing/supporting political candidates seeking public office, political parties, and/or political and public issues contained on election ballots may be placed on private property, subject to the following:
– Number: There is no limit on the number of political signs for each zoning lot, other than the area limitation noted below.
– Area: The total area of all political signs upon any zoning lot shall not exceed 32 square feet in area.
– Location: No political sign shall be placed within the public right-of-way, or placed on public property, except as permitted by the Election Code (10 ILCS 5/1-1 et seq).
– Height Political signs shall not be of a height to block any line of sight of adjacent vehicular traffic.
– Any signs improperly placed may be removed and disposed of by the Village.
– Signs posted relevant to an election must be removed within seven days after the election for which they were posted.
