The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Champaign, DeWitt, McLean, and Vermilion Counties. Weather conditions, along with dry crops and vegetation are prime for fires to ignite and spread rather quickly. Winds are anticipated to be 25 miles per hour with gust at times expected to hit 45mph. Predictions also include relative humidity as low as 32%, and a moderate risk of dust storms over the next few days. The Illinois State Fire Marshal has also urged people to avoid burning until the rain arrives later this week.

The Village Board has voted to utilize Motor Fuel Tax funding for much needed road repairs.

North Church Street from Central Ave to Clark Street is under construction this week being rotomilled, oiled, and chipped. This area is projected to be completed by Friday, September 13 at 5:00pm.

All streets west of the railroad tracks are scheduled to begin the oil and chipping process on Thursday, September 12. While drives are accessible, On-Street parking will not be permitted during the hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm daily through Thursday, September 19.

Village roads will reopen for business as usual starting Friday, September 20. Please note: inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the work schedule.
